On My Table and In My Cup July 22nd-29th

I am so very lucky and grateful for the opportunities that I have in life, for the people placed in my path and for the books written by amazing authors who give me a great escape. I am particularly grateful this week after a difficult week. I had some amazing opportunities this week and I am so thankful and thrilled with how my Beyond The Bookmark event went with author Jayne Barnard in celebration of her Maddie Hatter series. Thank you to all who came to the Facebook event on my Beyond The Bookmarks pages.

Wrong Side of the Paw by Laurie Cass...

I finished Wrong Side of The Paw by Laurie Cass Friday at swim lessons for my boys and oh boy did I ever enjoy this one. Laurie Cass has created such a wonderful series around a tiny librarian who drives a book mobile in a tiny tourist town, with a great kitty sidekick. If ever there was to be a Librarian Superhero, the image I get is that of main character Minnie Hamilton.  I have read this entire series and feel like I have gotten to know Minnie like a close friend even a cousin after all this time and in this book I felt like screaming "Yes! Finally!" but you will have to read it to find out why.  This is an enjoyable series with some unique situations and it will truly give you that cozy feeling, new respect for  unsung Librarian Superheroes everywhere and a desire to pick up and move to a houseboat just to join in the fun.  Some fun mysteries and even better sleuthing from the naturally curious and clever Librarian extraordinaire!

As the bookmobile rolls along the hills of Chilson, Michigan, Minnie and Eddie spread good cheer and good reads. But when her faithful feline finds his way into the middle of a murder, Minnie is there, like any good librarian, to check it out. Eddie turns a routine bookmobile stop into anything but when he makes a quick escape and hops into a pickup truck…with a dead body in the flatbed. The friendly local lawyer who was driving the pickup falls under suspicion. But Minnie and Eddie think there's more to this case than meets the eye, and the dynamic duo sets out to leave no page unturned.

This one is out July 25th and can be ordered by clicking here from Amazon.

On My Table and In My Cup July 15th -22nd

Well I can honestly say this was a crazy fast week, only getting home on Monday I am very much behind! I did manage to get a bit of reading done this week, and just started Final Check out by CeeCee James.

It was so much fun to have this book early and to escape to. If you have not yet read this series it is one of the best, I love the idea of a historical based, royal family, spy mystery series and I know you would too if you happened upon it! Book one made me so very happy! I have devoured each book since!

Two British Cozies for me this week

A Release Day Contest For Cat With A Clue by Laurie Cass

Today is the release day for so many wonderful cozies I have had the pleasure of reading in the last few weeks and I am thrilled that today I have an opportunity to award one of my lucky readers in the United States a copy of Cat with a Clue by Laurie Cass.  You can read my review of Cat with a Clue by clicking here.

"Early one morning while shelving books in the library, Minnie stumbles upon a dead body. Authorities identify the woman as an out-of-towner visiting Chilson for her great-aunt s funeral. What she was doing in the library after hours is anyone s guess . . . but Minnie and Eddie are determined to save the library s reputation and catch a killer. As rumors about the victim circulate through Chilson, the police are in a bind over a streak of baffling break-ins. Luckily, Minnie and Eddie are traveling the county in their bookmobile, and they'll stop at nothing to find the spineless killer before the final page is turned on someone else."

To enter to win a copy of Cat with A Clue by Laurie Cass please email me at karenmowen@gmail.com with Laurie Cass in the subject line. You must be living in the USA to enter. Chances of wining a copy depend on the number of entries received. Contest closes August 4th at mid night PST.  A Winner will be chosen at random and announced on my Saturday post.
Good luck and thank you for joining me for a cup of tea and a cozy give away today. I would love to hear from you so please leave me a comment below or email me at karenmowen@gmail.com

Cat With A Clue, A Great Bookmobile Cat Mystery!

Tuesday night I finished reading Cat With A Clue, A Bookmobile Cat mystery by Laurie Cass. I had read the first two, a few years back and I loved the concept. The idea of an independent and vertically challenged librarian who lived on a house boat, brought the concept of the bookmobile to life for her library and surrounding areas and who had a cat that stowed away really appealed to me. In this the 5th book in the series I was very pleased with how the characters have grown and that all of the charm and magic of the bookmobile remains. The mystery was a good one and one that made me think. I like it when that happens! This is perhaps my favorite of the series so far! I truly hope that there is a book 6 in the works!

Early one morning while shelving books in the library, Minnie stumbles upon a dead body. Authorities identify the woman as an out-of-towner visiting Chilson for her great-aunt’s funeral. What she was doing in the library after hours is anyone’s guess . . . but Minnie and Eddie are determined to save the library’s reputation and catch a killer.  As rumors about the victim circulate through Chilson, the police are in a bind over a streak of baffling break-ins. Luckily, Minnie and Eddie are traveling the county in their bookmobile, and they'll stop at nothing to find the spineless killer before the final page is turned on someone else.

Cat with a Clue is out this August 2nd and is available for pre order on Amazon by clicking here.
