On My Table And In My Cup October 31st- November 7th

Thank you for joining me for a week in review, I think I missed last weeks in all the excitement of the Halloween Holiday! But currently gracing my table is M.C. Beaton's Dishing The Dirt. This book arrived mysteriously and late Thursday night at my door by courier and what a delightful surprise it was. My sister had brought me this lovely little teacup ornament she bought me while on vacation last summer and I am quite excited with it.
The first book I finished this November was Pickin' Murder by Vicki Vass, honestly it is like a weekend trip with the girls and one you will not soon forget, I highly recommend this book and series. It was a lovely treat to have it on my table.
Finding myself with nothing to read when I finsihed Pickin' Murder, Lisa K told me about Deathby Coffee and I ordered it on Amazon.
This week I treated myself to some wonderful new holiday teas from Davids Tea company. I bought Snow day which is a herbal delight, it tastes very similar to those chocolates you get at the end of dinner at Olive Garden very tasty and caffeine free.
I then tried the New Hot Chocolate Tea from Davids and it is pretty much my new favorite. It tastes like hot chocolate I think and I need to stop in store to order more already!
On the off chance you did not see my Muffin in a Mug recipe I recommend you give this a try one cold and rushed morning you will be glad you did, this is like a warm hug on a cold day and truly a treat.
I have had some wonderful ups this week and somethings that got me down this week but all in all this week was a good one. The tea's have been fantastic, my table has been full and my free time filled with wonderful cozy mysteries to devour and to share.

Death By Coffee by Alex Erickson

I just finished Death By Coffee by Alex Erickson. My friend Lisa K suggested it to me and it was on sale on Amazon for my Kindle app for $1.99 which was a good deal. The story is about a woman who moves to a smaller town to open a business with her friend. A Coffee and Book Shop called Death By Coffee.
The story was okay and the mystery was good but I really did not feel it was overly cozy for a cozy. I liked the characters but feel like there should have been more too them, which  I am sure will happen in book 2 Death by Tea which comes out in a few weeks on November 24th
I felt like I wanted to get to know the main characters a little bit more and the book felt like a sneak peak. I am glad I ordered this book and enjoyed the mystery, I would love to know what you thought about this book if you have read it so please do let me know!

A Cup of Tea, A Cozy Mystery and A 1 Minute Muffin In a Mug Recipe!

Yesterday morning I had to be up and out of the house with my oldest son before 7 am so he could go to school for his choir practice. This happens twice a week and cuts in to my tea and reading time but he loves it and I love that he does so I drive him and then come home for tea.
I was craving muffins that particular morning but with the driving time and the need to get the other two boys moving for school I did not have time to bake an entire pan of muffins and really I am the only one in the house who likes blueberries, so I remembered the muffin in a mug recipe I had and thought what the heck if it is awful I will just stop and pick an over priced muffin up from the coffee shop on my way to work this morning.  I was pleasantly surprised that my 1 minute muffin in a mug was better then okay it was fantastic. So I thought many of you are busy too, perhaps baking an entire pan of muffins is not the best use of your time or they might go to waste if you are on your own, so I thought I would share my recipe. for my 1 Minute Muffin In A Mug.
4 tbsp of flour
2 tbsp of white granulated sugar
1/8 of a tsp of backing powder
1/16 of a tsp of baking soda
2 tbsp of milk
1 tbsp of water
1 tbsp of vegetable oil
15 frozen or fresh blueberries
* 1 tsp of brown sugar

Place all the ingredients in your mug as they are listed above except for the brown sugar. Use a fork to mix them all together. Place the mug in your microwave on high for 1 minute. If your center of the mug is too soft give it another 20 seconds in the microwave on high. *It is important to note that this muffin will not be golden brown on the edges like a regular muffin but trust me it is cooked!  Remove it from the microwave and sprinkle it with the tsp of brown sugar, then enjoy with a fork, your favorite cup of tea and of course a cozy mystery!

New Book And New Tea Monday Was Good To Me!

Well Monday's for some are not the best but mine turned out okay! Lisa K and I were chatting about cozies and she told me about Death by Coffee by Alex Erickson which was on sale for $1.99 on Amazon, the next one coming out is called Death by Tea so you know I am going to want to read it by the title alone! I ordered it and instantly it came to my Kindle, I do love paper best but the need to read got me!
I stopped by Davids Tea and tried their new new herbal tea called Snow Day and it is brilliant, it has mint leaves, chocolate chips and snowflake sprinkled sugar insided. I tried it in store and loved it, I picked up the skinny tin and think I will go back for 100 grm tin. It is a lovely afternoon tea and very soothing.

Perfect for kids too as it is mostly caffeine free (the only caffeine is in the chocolate chips)
Click here to view Davids Tea and the new teas out for the season.
I am so glad I stopped in store today! You can get the slim tin 2 for $15 or $9 each in store. On line 50grms $7.75 and 100 grms is $15,50
