Over the last week I read Italian Iced by Kylie Logan, this is the third book in the Ethnic Eats Series which came out June 26th. I love the main character in this book, a former foster child who now runs a Ethnic themed eatery whos menu changes each month. Her former employer ends up dead and it is almost impossible to not find someone with a motive for her death. A touch of wonderful romance, a great cozy mystery and wonderful food. This one is a great series to beach read.
Hot pasta and a cold corpse make for quite a combination in the latest book in the Ethnic Eats mystery series. When Laurel Inwood features Italian cuisine on the Terminal at the Tracks menu, she knows she'll need to stock the shelves, the fridge, and the freezer with plenty of wonderful delicacies. She just never expected one of them to be her former employer, Hollywood superstar Meghan Cohan. And one day, when Laurel is at the restaurant early to get ready for the regular rush of customers, that's exactly what she finds--Meghan dead in the Terminal freezer. What's a Hollywood A-lister doing in Hubbard, Ohio? For Laurel, that's the real question, because the first question she'd ask in any other murder investigation--who would want the victim dead?--seems pretty much a no-brainer in this case.Who would want Meghan dead?Just about anybody who had ever met her.

Five Amigos Fall-O-Ween Fun Week Two
We are back with Week two and sipping peppermint tea as we are both stuffed!
It is Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada, so Happy Thanksgiving!
Up first this week is Karen K! Her Choice is The Legend of Sleepy Harlow by Kylie Logan.
I love these characters and their teamwork. The League of Literary Ladies are each unique characters and a delight to read and to follow their journey in solving the whodunit.
It takes more than a lurid legend to scare off the League of Literary Ladies in the third novel in this charming cozy mystery series... For Halloween, the Literary Ladies have chosen to read Washington Irving's spooky classic, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, with its infamous headless horseman. But South Bass Island has its own headless legend--of a Prohibition bootlegger named Charlie "Sleepy" Harlow. Decapitated by rival rumrunners, Harlow appears once a year in spectral form to search for his noggin. This October, the Elkhart Ghost Getters (EGG) have returned to the island. The group claims that they have film footage of Harlow's ghost, and are determined to get more. They're staying at Bea Cartwright's B & B, but it's Kate Wilder who isn't happy to see them after they trashed her winery last year. When the EGG leader turns up dead, Kate becomes the prime suspect, and the other League members need to scramble to crack the case.
The second spirited mystery in the New York Times bestselling Paws & Claws series. Wagtail, Virginia, the top pet-friendly getaway in the United States, is gearing up for a howling good Halloween--until a spooky murder shakes the town to its core.. Holly Miller doesn't believe in spirits, but the Sugar Maple Inn is filled with guests who do. The TV series in development, Apparition Apprehenders, has descended on Wagtail's annual Halloween festivities to investigate supernatural local legends, and Holly has her hands full showing the ghost hunters a scary-fun time. But the frights turn real when Holly's Jack Russell, Trixie, and kitten, Twinkletoes, find a young woman drowned in the Wagtail Springs Hotel's bathhouse--the spot of the town's most infamous haunting. The crime scene is eerily similar to the creepy legend, convincing Holly that the death wasn't just accidental. Now she'll have to race to catch a flesh-and-blood killer--before someone else in town gives up the ghost... Delicious recipes for owners and pets included

Continuing my love of Krista Davis, this time with her A Paws & Claws Mystery. The second spirited mystery in the New York Times bestselling Paws & Claws series. On My Table and In My Cup June 3rd-10th
Saturday morning and I am reading my way through Carol Novis' Long In The Sleuth. Love this book so far can not wait to share with you more in my review. I have had another crazy week, not just the normal crazy but the crazy where you have 4 firemen trying to get a 2 year old out of the bathroom because the door strike jammed when she slammed it, when the puppy stole her monkey.... Man my life is truly funny sometimes in hindsight that is. I am now walking without crutches and while my ankle is very sore and swollen by the end of the day it is now mostly managed.
I also got quite a bit of reading done this week and was thrilled to share quite a few reviews this week. Murder at the Lighthouse by Frances Evesham was a delightful British Cozy mystery read this week and should still be a free book at time of publishing, you may want to pick this one up too!
While still on crutches I managed to hobble over to a little French Cafe near by and enjoy a Rosemary Savory Scone, some Marco Polo Tea and read a few chapters of Kylie Logan's French Fried before the school called and I had to pick up my son who had a fever. Good news is I had just taken my last bite and my last sip of this very delicious tea and was fortified for the afternoon that followed.
Such a divine treat to get an advanced reading copy of Lorna Barrett's A Just Clause. when I read the last line I was so thrilled and sad at the same time knowing I would have to wait just that much longer to read the next one. Advanced reading copies can be a double edged sword!
Such a treat this one is out next Tuesday and should be on your TBR pile for sure!
Monday morning our visitors from Japan went back home. It was an adventure having 5 boys in the house this weekend and fun playing tourist in our own town. I can not wait to do this again next year. I hope that we have made long lasting friendships and that we can build on it for many years to come. The school gave us a beautiful box containing some sugar cookies perfect reminder of the sweet boys we got to spend the weekend with and it pairs beautifully with my tea. Special thanks to Jack and Janie my dear friends for the beautiful "Welcome to the Ankle Club" flowers they gave me after my accident with my ankle. Mine is not broken but Janie's is, for all the pain in endured she suffered 100% worse, we are forever Left Ankle Twins!
I can not thank you enough for joining me for a cup of tea and a cozy mystery week in review. I hope you like some of the new changes I have made with the addition of the Youtube Channel and the Fancy Friday Finds. I would love to hear from you so please leave me a comment here or email me at karenmowen@gmail.com
I have started something new and I have now got a Youtube Channel I hope that you will subscribe to! I have two videos currently posted and am working on some channel art hoping to have you stop over and subscribe! I hope this becomes a fun and easy way to share my love of books I have read and books I am reading with you in a short and personal way.

Kylie Logan's French Fried
Yesterday I read French Fried by Kylie Logan. This is the second book in the Ethnic Eats Mystery Series. I have to say that I thought this was going to be a very predictable cozy and "pardon my pun" a cookie cutter of those I have read before but this had a great twist and Kylie did not take the easy way out with this mystery. I enjoyed it, more then I had thought I would, with in the first six chapters I was sure I had this storyline all figured out, but I didn't and it was so much better than I could have thought. My hat is off to French Fried. Great book, pick it up!
Poison du Jour The Statue of Liberty is 130 years old, and for the struggling residents of Hubbard, Ohio, any opportunity to bring in tourists is reason enough for a celebration. Laurel Inwood and her aunt, Sophie, are pitching in. Sophie’s Terminal at the Tracks, a former greasy spoon turned charming ethnic eatery, will be offering French cuisine for the entire week. For expert help with their quiche and escargot, the ladies turn to Raquel “Rocky” Arnaud, a former French chef and friend of Sophie. What looks like a match made in heaven turns rank as quickly as buttermilk on a summer’s day. Rocky turns up dead and when her nightly red wine shows notes of oak, cinnamon, and poison, Laurel turns from soufflĂ© to sleuth.
You can find French Fried out now and buy your own copy from Amazon by clicking here.

Gone With The Twins by Kylie Logan
I read Gone with the Twins by Kylie Logan last week and I was very impressed. Good Southern Twist, Romance & that Cozy Feeling. This is book 5 in the Literary Ladies Mystery series. Gone with The Twins is out now and has a great Southern Theme. I found myself shaking my head at some of the book but also cheering in many more places. This is the second book in the series I have read and I loved it.
The League of Literary Ladies is currently enjoying Margaret Mitchell’s saga of the South, Gone with the Wind. But there’s one situation on South Bass Island that they wish would simply blow over. Kidnapped as teenagers, the children of a famous movie star are now media darlings after a miraculous escape. What’s next for the celebrity twins? They’re opening an over-the-top B and B called Tara on South Bass Island, and frankly, they don’t give a damn about the competition—including Bea Cartwright’s own beloved inn. The other members of the League—Chandra, Kate, and Luella—are turning scarlet. But when local realtor Vivian Frisk is found murdered, and the suspects include Chandra, who lost her beau to the frisky Vivian, the Ladies rally to her defense. They may have to skim a few chapters of the Civil War soap opera and focus on bringing justice to the island they call home...

Irish Stewed, An Ethnic Eats Mystery, A New First In Series And A Fantastic Read!
I finished reading Irish Stewed on May 4th. I loved the title, and was thrilled to have picked up this book! I hated putting it down. Kylie Logan has written a very good first in series with Irish Stewed!
The main character in Irish Stewed is Complex and Curious!
I have to say honestly from first hand experience Kylie Logan has captured the true spirit and edge of a woman who grew up in the foster care system. My own parents were foster parents and growing up we had several kids and teens that came through who were just like main character Laurel. With an LA Sized chip on her shoulder and a can do attitude it is hard not to get behind Laurel. Helping her cause even further is a mysterious Irish Man whom she reluctantly befriends and helps set the tone with this first in series that I can not wait to see what the two of them get up to next!

On My Table And In My Cup April 30- May 7th
What a week it has been. Thank you for joining me for a cup of tea and a cozy mystery this week. I have had some amazing titles on my table this week as well as many cups of wonderful tea. This week I pulled out a favorite black tea called Fuzzy Peaches that I bought from Steeped Tea, I don't think they have this one anymore but it is a favorite. I have had a pot each afternoon this week and it tastes like the summer fruit I am so looking forward too.
Vicki Vass sent me two of her up coming books Killer finds and Gem Hunter, this week, they arrived on Thursday and I am halfway through Killer Finds. I love the Antique Hunter Mystery series and book three has some wonderful surprises, a few mysteries and the worlds best next door neighbor!
It is surreal to even write these words but Jim has gone to join Joyce, the sudden passing of the second half of the most incredible writing duo has me still in shock, my heart goes out to their family and the entire community. The re-release of The Last To Remember book 3 was outstanding. Truly amazing to have this on my table this week and this photo I took Thursday morning has the cup I used most often when I am thinking of Joyce, it is purple, delicate and ornate, and reminds me of her and our short but important friendship. Joyce and Jim were mentors of mine and I have such respect for them. Please keep their family in your thoughts and your prayers.
I finished Irish Stewed this week and have a review coming out for you later this month, I will tell you that I enjoyed this first in series and look forward to seeing the next Ethnic Eats Mystery soon!
Not a cozy but a very cool book coming out this summer, The Witches Mirror by Mickie Mueller, has an amazing cover and is another book I have been sent to review but will buy in paper back truly an interesting and historical look at mirrors in magic and witch craft. My review will be up Sunday.
I have also pre written a review of Caroyln Hart's Don't Go Home as well as
finished and pre written the review for Seams Like Murder by Betty Hechtman, both these reviews will be up later this month as well.
My TBR pile is slowly winding down and at the moment I think I have 7 to go before the end of the month. So I shall leave you here to enjoy your Saturday while I continue to tackle the books, between baseball, yard sales, free comic book day and whatever else I may have forgotten about that is on the calendar this weekend.
Thank you for joining me this weekend for a cup of tea and a week in review. I look forward to sharing more reviews, crafts, tea and more with you again soon! As with all my posts I would love to hear from you so please leave me a comment here or email me at karenmowen@gmail.com

May has some truly wonderful reads just waiting on you to pick up, hold in your hand and in your hearts forever!
Also out today is Carolyn Hart's Don't Go Home, the cover fits this story well and no spoilers from me, I will tell you I have a review planned for later this month!
Betty Hechtman 's Seams like Murder was such a fun read, catching up with the gang and still trying to get the hang of the hook myself, I love a well spun and tangled yarn type mystery!
I can not insist more that you pick up this second in series and be inspired and transported to the Hamptons, this is a great weekend read! Kathleen Bridge has a unique and wonderful lead character I know you are going to just love.

No words needed, if you are a fan of this series you are likely lining up if you have not got the mail man dropping your order of to you! Heather Blake and the Wishcraft Mystery Series is one of the best!

I know you are going to be simply amazed by this cozy by Lorna Barrettm, my lips are sealed but I will say read with Kleenex, ice-cream and take your phone off the hook, you wont want to put it down!
