On My Table and In My Cup May 6th to the 13th

No idea how the week has already come and gone, far to fast and yet a long time coming. This week has been a busy one for us as usual but I have had the good fortune to find time to read some lovely books this week and I have enjoyed a fair amount of  Murchie's tea.
I just started Bailey Cattrell's Nightshade For Warning. Bailey Catrell is also Bailey Cates and author I have enjoyed in the past. This was something I did not know when I requested it. I found this to be a happy coincidence.
I had Peg Cochran's Dead and Berried on my table this week along with
Ellery Adams Killer Characters, this was a very complex and sophisticated cozy, a must read for sure!
Death in Dark Blue was an outstanding read as well Julia Buckley has outdone herself in this suspenseful cozy mystery, I could not believe what I was reading and at one point wanted to throw the book across the room, I was so wrapped up in the story it was so good!
I also read Missed Spelled this week by an Australian Cozy Author Morgana Best. this was a free cozy that was an easy and enchanting read.
Mother's day is tomorrow and I shared my own Mother tea cup along with some wonderful Etsy ones. I wish you a very Happy Mother's day tomorrow to all who celebrate, I also wish you peace to all who mourn the loss of their mothers or motherhood in general. It is not the easiest of Sunday's for so many.

Thank you for joining me for a cup of tea and a week in review. I look forward to sharing more with you tomorrow. I would love to hear from you so I invite you to leave a comment or email me at karenmowen@gmail.com

Dead and Berried by Peg Cochran

I finished Dead and Berried, a Cranberry Cover Mystery by Peg Cochran yesterday. I love the cover on this cozy, I feel it truly captures the feel of the farm and sets the right tone for the book. I think that the relationship between the main character Monica and her brother is very well written. The dynamic of their sibling interactions is one I really enjoy. The mystery in this one was not what I expected and it took me a while to figure out. The mystery I found quite plausible and it had a very cozy ending!
Dead and Berried by Peg Cochran is out now and you can find it on Amazon by clicking here.

Peg Cochran's No Farm, No Foul

Peg Cochran has a new series for you to enjoy with a very interesting way to tell the story and mystery that happens on her character Shelby McDonald's Love Blossom Farm. This story and mystery is read and experienced as if you were reading part of the mystery on line from Shelby's blog. I found I really enjoyed the blog aspect of the story as well as how widower and mother Shelby manages not only her farm but her cozy life in the aftermath of the death of her husband. This is an inspired cozy with a great concept and cover art.
On her blog, The Farmer’s Daughter, Shelby McDonald is growing her audience as she posts recipes, gardening tips, and her experiences raising two kids and running Love Blossom Farm in the small western Michigan town of Lovett.
Working the farm is demanding but peaceful—until that peace is shattered when the minister’s wife is murdered on Shelby’s property during a fund-raiser for a local church. But the manure really hits the fan when Shelby’s good friend veterinarian Kelly Thacker emerges as the prime suspect. Shelby decides to dig in and find the murderer by herself. As more suspects crop up, she’ll have to move fast—before someone else buys the farm. . . .

On My Table And In My Cup August 20th-27th

Saturday and what a week it has been, I have actually been home now since Monday, what a great time I had! I love to go away but there is something about being home I think is fantastic and that I truly miss. My cat Squirrel seems to be the most put out by my leaving, though I hope she has mostly forgiven me now. We were in the State of Oregon, my husband and I. It was a great get away.  We left the boys and the cats at home and headed for the eclectic and fun bookstores, fresh air of the Pacific North West and even got to fulfill a life long dream of visiting and being inside a lighthouse.

A dream trip for sure and only about 6 hours from my home. Quite a delight for sure. I also had the great fortune to visit the Stash Tea Store and now I am wishing I bought way more then I did. I can order on line but the shipping will kill me! The Portland loose leaf Stash Blend was way beyond my expectations and perfectly reflects the state. You can taste the culture and the communities, the quirkiness and the sweetness of great outdoors in each sip. Click here to see how you can order your own from the Stash Tea Website.
Monday we arrived home and waiting for me was Jessica Estevao's Whispers Beyond The Veil.  I am looking forward to reading this one.
Also waiting for me when I got home but on my Kindle App was Warren Adler's cozy mystery Flanagan's Dolls. This book is out now and as a Doll lover this book appeals to me.
Tuesday's mail brought some lovely treasures from my friend Lisa! I love the napkins and watching my TBR pile grow!
Wednesday the mail man dropped off 8 more lovelies to my pile. Not hard to dive into this bunch. I am so excited to read some familiar series and some that are totally new to me. So hard to know where to start! Great problem to have!

Thursday brought me my friend Lisa's suggestion of Susan Bernhardt's The Ginseng Conspiracy! Good friends, tea, pastries and set at Halloween this one looks really good! I hear it is also out in paperback now too!
Friday no mail came but that is just as well. I have a very full and thankful table at the moment. Thank you for joining me for a cup of tea and a cozy week in review. I would love to hear from you so please leave me a comment here or email me at karenmowen@gmail.com

Berry The Hatchet by Peg Cochran Was Delightful!

I very much enjoyed Berry The Hatchet, A Cranberry Cover Mystery. This is not a series I had heard of before and I am truly delighted to have found it. Book 2 in the series has a warm and fuzzy feeling cozy despite being set in January. It has very personable characters and a lovely romance line to accompany the murder mystery. I love cranberries and the idea of a cranberry farm with daily fresh baked cranberry scones to be very appealing. Main character Monica, her brother, mother, step mother and adorable little kitten have wonderfully complicated relationships and flaws you can relate too.

This was a great cozy to put my feet up with and sink into the couch and story with. To learn more about Peg Cochran please click here. To order your own copy of Berry The Hatched from The Book Depository with free shipping please click here.

On My Table And In My Cup May 7-14th

Saturday morning only a 1/2 cup of tea in me yet this morning, I stayed up late as I could not put down Vicki Vass' newest series book one Gem Hunter. I will share my review with you early this week, I do believe I have a slight "book hangover" while I mull over and re play the extremely awesome book in my head for the next little while. It is hard to let a book this good be finished! Love it when that happens!
Uncomplicated fun and mystery in this laugh out loud story by Auralee  Wallace, this was a deligght to have on my table this week.

Peg Cochran's Berry The Hatchet was another lovely read, nothing like settling in feet up and book in hand.
Nancy Parra's Newlywed Dead was also on my table and one I finished, review up shortly, made Watching say yes to the dress a little more fun this week!
Starting the week with Vicki Vass and Killer Finds really set the tone for the week, such a great series and I do believe that ending the week with the first in series Gem Hunter made the week come full circle for me.
New teas on my table and in my cup this week so many wonderful flavors to review and enjoy!
It is now 7:35 and I am off to the yard sales with my sister in law before baseball today. I hope where you find yourself today you are not far away from the perfect spot, a full cup and a great cozy.
Enjoy and thank you for joining me for a cup of tea and a week in review. I look forward to sharing more tea and cozy mysteries with you again tomorrow. I would love to hear from you so please leave me a comment here or email me at karenmowen@gmail.com

Happy Release Day! Run Out, Pick Up Or Order You Can Not Loose

May has some truly wonderful reads just waiting on you to pick up, hold in your hand and in your hearts forever!

I am currently reading Irish Stewed by Kylie Logan  which is one of the amazing cozy mysteries being released today! I am on chapter 15 and hated to put it down last night so I could get some sleep! I love a captivating first in series and love it even more when the tea cups match the books I am reading.

Also out today is Carolyn Hart's Don't Go Home, the cover fits this story well and no spoilers from me, I will tell you I have a review planned for later this month!
Betty Hechtman 's Seams like Murder was such a fun read, catching up with the gang and still trying to get the hang of the hook myself, I love a well spun and tangled yarn type mystery!
I can not insist more that you pick up this second in series and be inspired and transported to the Hamptons, this is a great weekend read! Kathleen Bridge has a unique and wonderful lead character I know you are going to just love.

Darcie Wilde, what can I say A Useful Woman was a "distinctly discerning" read. sharing my review of this one on May 10th, I can not help but get very excited for those of you who are going to loose yourself in this Austen Era Mystery!
No words needed, if you are a fan of this series you are likely lining up if you have not got the mail man dropping your order of to you! Heather Blake and the Wishcraft Mystery Series is one of the best!
I will admit I splurged and bought this in hard back but for those of you who were excitedly waiting on the release of the paper back today is your day! I know you are going to be simply amazed by this cozy by Lorna Barrettm, my lips are sealed but I will say read with Kleenex, ice-cream and take your phone off the hook, you wont want to put it down!
On my to be read pile is Nancy J. Parra's Newlywed Dead out today and what a cover!
Peg Cochran has Berry The Hatchet out today, looking forward to this cozy, the kitten is calling me from the cover!
Two books out today and on my TBR pile by Sally Goldenbaum, I am truly looking forward to reading all of these books and quite a few more this month!
