On My Table And In My Cup September 17-24th

This week has been a busy one and I am afraid I have not has as much time to dedicate to reading as I should but I am absolutely delighted to have Heather Blake's The Witch and The Dead on my table this weekend. I have been a long time fan of this series and I still pre order it. I am thrilled that I got an advanced reading copy of this book! This is one of my most favorite cozy mystery series and I am thrilled to have it this rainy weekend.
Also on my table this week some fantastic walkers shortbread cookies brought to me from England, I may have eaten half the box while reading Masking for Trouble by Diane Vallere, this was a new to me series and a good mystery, review coming up next week.
I also new to my table this week Tangled Up in Brew by Joyce Tremel, fun idea, this series is!
Having Joyce and Jim Lavene's books on my table has long been a treat now it is an honor to have the third book in the retired witches series on my table. I miss my daily chats with Joyce... I find it truly amazing to be able to spend time reading their amazing work, feeling as though they have not really left us at all.
New to me tea on the table this week from For Tea's Sake's Shades of Earl Grey a nice classic earl grey that is not overly floral.
The winner of Dead To The Last Drop is Doward T. Wilson! Congratulations and thank you to all who took the time to enter! Doward your book is being sent to you from the publisher.

I am so thankful to have you join me today for a cup of tea and a cozy review! I would love to hear from you so please leave me a comment here or email me at karenmowen@gmail.com

Dead To The Last Drop by Cleo Coyle, Review & Give Away

Labor day long weekend I read Dead to the Last Drop by Cleo Coyle. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this mystery. This is the 15th book in the series and the first one I can say I truly enjoyed to the last drop. When I first saw the cover and the write up on the book I thought that this mystery would be like so many other "President's daughter gets kidnapped" story lines from books and movies, I am happy I was wrong and despite my fears I quickly found myself turning page after page and drinking it all in. I enjoyed Cleo Coyle's spin on this "President's daughter gets kidnapped" story and hope you will too! I am very excited to announce the give away for a copy of Dead to the Last Drop to one of my USA readers. From today September 21st to September 23 you have a chance to enter to win a copy of your own. Email me  at karenmowen@gmail.com with COFFEE in the subject line to be entered into the random draw, chances of wining a copy are dependent on entries received. Good luck!

When the White House asks coffeehouse manager and master roaster Clare Cosi to consult on a Rose Garden Wedding, she uncovers long-simmering secrets that threaten to boil over... Clare's Washington visit is off to a graceful start, when she lands a housesitting job in a Georgetown mansion and is invited to work on the Smithsonian's salute to coffee in America. Unfortunately, her new Village Blend DC is struggling--until its second floor Jazz Space attracts a high-profile fan in the daughter of the President. But as Clare's stock rises, she learns a stark lesson: Washington can be murder. First a State Department employee suspiciously collapses in her coffeehouse. Then the President's daughter goes missing. After another deadly twist, Clare is on the run with her NYPD detective boyfriend. Branded an enemy of the state, she must uncover the truth before her life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness come to a bitter end.

On My Table and In My Cup September 3rd-10th

What a week, so much going on, not sadly much time to sit and read and drink tea the day away. School started this week and the chicken head cut off routine began. I am so pleased to say I snuck in several chapters here and there and I am so very thankful for the books that have crossed my table this week. Buy a friend a book day was August 31st and my favorite non-regular holiday to participate in! My wonderful friend Karen sent me the two books shown above.
My Buy A Friend A Book Day Swap Partner Kathleen sent me these two, via The Book Depository who included (and recently began sending) the nicest book marks to color!

Also on my table and I was reading Murder She Wrote this past week, first I have read in this series, i fondly remember the tv show and my mom watching it too.
I finished Dead to the Last Drop by Cleo Coyle on Labor Day Monday and have the review later this month with a give away so I hope you will check back!
I also managed to finish Murder of a Cranky Catnapper by Denise Swanson, this too is being reviewed later this month with a give away September is always so busy but I am blessed to be able to give away two great books this month. More on the details on these give away's September 21st and 26th.
I can not say enough about Patrice Greenwood's A Fatal Twist of Lemon, seriously this book is a prize on my shelf and I long to read the entire series.
I also need to remember to put Jean Flowers' first book in the Postmistress Series on my list as well, I really enjoyed this one.
We need more series with strong woman of a certain age and her friends like this one by Susan Bernhardt. What a lucky week I have had with books and tea!

In my cup this week I have been so very blessed to have my personal favorite Heavenly Cream that I ran out of three weeks ago, my very dear friend Daniela went to Neverland Tea and picked me up 200 grams, it has been such a delight to have it back in my daily mix!
Also in my cup this week is the Pukka Earl Grey tea, I think I mentioned it last week and wow is it ever good.
Wednesday morning I met with my friend Farnoush who has just arrived back in Canada and she brought me the most wonderful Saffron Tea. It was a true pleasure to see her again and a wonderful surprise to have been gifted this tea, the taste reminds me of the finest Darjeeling tea with a round and robust flavor that feels very indulgent!

Thank you so much for joining me for a cup of tea and a week in review! I would love to hear from you so please leave me a comment here or email me at karenmowen@gmail.com

On My Table And In My Cup August 20th-27th

Saturday and what a week it has been, I have actually been home now since Monday, what a great time I had! I love to go away but there is something about being home I think is fantastic and that I truly miss. My cat Squirrel seems to be the most put out by my leaving, though I hope she has mostly forgiven me now. We were in the State of Oregon, my husband and I. It was a great get away.  We left the boys and the cats at home and headed for the eclectic and fun bookstores, fresh air of the Pacific North West and even got to fulfill a life long dream of visiting and being inside a lighthouse.

A dream trip for sure and only about 6 hours from my home. Quite a delight for sure. I also had the great fortune to visit the Stash Tea Store and now I am wishing I bought way more then I did. I can order on line but the shipping will kill me! The Portland loose leaf Stash Blend was way beyond my expectations and perfectly reflects the state. You can taste the culture and the communities, the quirkiness and the sweetness of great outdoors in each sip. Click here to see how you can order your own from the Stash Tea Website.
Monday we arrived home and waiting for me was Jessica Estevao's Whispers Beyond The Veil.  I am looking forward to reading this one.
Also waiting for me when I got home but on my Kindle App was Warren Adler's cozy mystery Flanagan's Dolls. This book is out now and as a Doll lover this book appeals to me.
Tuesday's mail brought some lovely treasures from my friend Lisa! I love the napkins and watching my TBR pile grow!
Wednesday the mail man dropped off 8 more lovelies to my pile. Not hard to dive into this bunch. I am so excited to read some familiar series and some that are totally new to me. So hard to know where to start! Great problem to have!

Thursday brought me my friend Lisa's suggestion of Susan Bernhardt's The Ginseng Conspiracy! Good friends, tea, pastries and set at Halloween this one looks really good! I hear it is also out in paperback now too!
Friday no mail came but that is just as well. I have a very full and thankful table at the moment. Thank you for joining me for a cup of tea and a cozy week in review. I would love to hear from you so please leave me a comment here or email me at karenmowen@gmail.com
