A Killing Notion~ "Sew" Worth The Wait!

Well I have drank countless pots of tea since I have last posted here and finished two cozy mysteries in the last week. Today I want to share with you my review of A Killing Notion by Melisa Bourbon.
I first found this series on a "spin the rack" moment at my local library and quickly fell in love with the series. Hooked on the first chapter, Harlow Jane Cassidy is a fabulous main character, self deprecating at times but really grows through out the series, surrounded by her wonderful and eclectic family members, she begins to put back down her roots in her home town of Bliss and starts Buttons and Bow's a Magical Dress Shop in her Me-maw's home.
This is the 5th book in the Magical Dressmaking Mystery series and one of my favorites. I loved the plot, characters and premiss of this book. I learned about the fascinating custom  of  home coming  "Mums", I found myself Google-ing to see images of these fun handmade accessories.

I loved how the story unfolded and the introduction of a few characters I hope will stick around and return in upcoming books!

If you are someone who loves cozy mysteries, sewing and appreciate a strong and un conventional family you should pick up this series and enjoy each and every stitch  of these cleverly crafted mysteries. A Killing Notion is a fun book and The Magical Dressmaking Mystery series is one you are sure to enjoy.
As with all my posts I would love to hear from you so please leave me a comment here or email me at karenmowen@gmail.com

  1. I am absolutely not crafty or creative, but I still love reading cozy mysteries where the main characters are. I do have this one on my wishlist, and really hope to read the first one soon. Glad you enjoyed it.
