On My Table and In My Cup April 16-23rd

This week I have had some lovely soon to be released titles on my table, I have actually had more then a dozen cross my table since Wednesday and though I have tried I have merely made a small dent of only a few of them read and set for review.

I am truly delighted with the task at hand!

Fixin to Die by Tonya Kappes was a good read, some wonderful funny and endearing moments and one you are might just get hooked on!

A wonderfully indulgent and inspiring read The Book of Sacred Baths was a much needed and truly delightful self-care escape.

The Tea Party In The Woods was a lovely addition to my table this week, child like wonder and comfort in this book, one you should pick up for yourself and the little tea party lovers in your life.

A Grand Murder, somewhat of a different style of cozy, also crossed my table and made for an entertaining read.

I was most excited to have Heather Blake's Gone with the Witch very briefly on my table as I could not put it down and am excited to share my review Sunday with you all.

for now I am a few chapters away from finishing A Useful Woman, this Austen Era mystery I shall share a review of early next week.

In my cup this week I have enjoyed Irish Breakfast, Heavenly Cream black teas and a lovely Wild Strawberry Green Tea. The weather has been lovely for the last few days and I have also been enjoying a iced sweetened peach black tea. More on that as the weather warms and the days get longer.

A Grand Murder by Kate Lucky

I read A Grand Murder this week by Kate Lucky. It was a first in series for the A Sammy Young Piano Tuner Mystery. This particular mystery reminded me of a Jennifer Stanley (Ellery Adam's) book in that the main character has a job I would expect to be a mostly male field. There was sinister happenings right from the start, a mystery that was quite shocking and an unusual love interest and new bff. This mystery was both familiar and different at the same time.

A dead priest, a mobster, and two Blue Hawaiians… When the state police try to pin the murder of a shady Catholic priest on piano tuner Sammy Young, she works against the clock to clear her name — and find the real killer. With the help of a cake-loving church secretary, a prospective boyfriend, and the town detective, Sammy delves into the reverend’s dark underworld of seedy business dealings and backroom poker games. As word spreads that Sammy is a prime suspect, her carefree career could meet an untimely end thanks to the rumor mill. But with the culprit still on the loose, the case of who killed the popular preacher only uncovers a series of secrets, lies, and dead ends. Will it take more than a prayer and a creepy caretaker to prove that this piano-loving sleuth didn’t finish off the infamous father?

The Tea Party In The Woods, I can picture myself invited as well in this enchanting tale!

A lovely book to have had on my table and to read today, though not winter where I am I hear that even though it is April, Colorado has had quite a bit of snow. This lovely tale by Akiko Miyakoshi  was thoughtfully written and beautifully illustrated.  With child like wonder and the possibilities that come from  a thoughtful imagination this book would make a lovely gift for a tea loving friend  or young child.

Kikko sets out after her father with a forgotten pie for Grandma. When she arrives at a strange house in the wintry woods, a peek in the window reveals that the footprints Kikko had been following did not belong to her father at all, but to a bear in a long coat and hat! Alice in Wonderland meets Little Red Riding Hood in this charmed tale.
