Fancy Friday Finds- Lemon...

My sister (right) brought me my Lemon Pie Birthday Tradition before 8 am, she kindly took this job upon herself in 2011 after my mom passed away. She now carries the tradition on and I am thrilled and stuffed.
Remember my stand from yesterday? See how perfectly it pairs with my birthday theme? Today's Fancy Friday Finds are lemon themed as I am still enjoying my birthday and hoping to share that joy with you.

I must start with a teacup and this yellow one caught my eye, this is a Royal Stafford teacup and I found it in a shop I enjoy called The Acreage which is a Canadian Etsy shop. Click here for shop and this lovely lemon colored listing

I do love a great lemon black tea and found this listing in Mrs. Murishouseoftea Etsy shop. Click here for shop and listing.

Lemon Pie Soap? I love this idea and found this listing in the  Lathered in Love Etsy Shop, you can find this listing by clicking here.

Thank you for joining me for a cup of tea and a look at this weeks Fancy Friday finds. I look forward to sharing more with you again soon. I would love to hear from you so please leave me a comment here or email me at karenmowen@gmail.com

Fancy Friday FInds- Comfort

Even though it is technically spring, I feel the need more for warmth and comfort. I am still wearing long underwear under my jeans.
Today's Etsy Favorites are inspired by the need to be surrounded in comfort.
Jane Austen had it right when she said "there is nothing like staying at home for real comfort" today I wish I could crawl under the covers and block the world out for a while. This sign from ShabbySignShoppe can be found by clicking here.

Diva Deluxe Creations has a few really neat comfort kits worth taking a look at. This one caught my eye. Click here to take a look.
The Book hangover Candle called Comfort Read caught my eye as well. I am always lighting candles and I love the idea of this one. The company is called The Book Hangover and you have to check the site out by clicking here. Some great gift ideas.

Hoping that you find some comfort in your day. Thank you for joining me for a cup of tea and a look at these Fancy Friday Finds.  I would love to hear from you so please leave me a comment here or email me at karenmowen@gmail.com

Fancy Friday Wax Seals and Stamps...

This week's Fancy Friday Finds I find myself wanting to share a recent purchase. I ordered a Wax Sealing Stamp Set like this one (okay mine is Harry Potter themed) and I long to return to the fun mail I used to get and exciting mail sealed with a wax stamp so I  shall be sending my personal cards going forward with a wax stamp. Well not practical maybe but pretty darn fun! Click here to see this set offered on the AllisonDIY Etsy Shop.

You can order custom stamps in a wide range of prices along with some more traditional stamps ( I ordered the tree one) from shops like ZakkaParts by clicking here

Worried about melting wax with a candle? Get Marked Etsy Shop offers a great alternative in these wax glue stick style! Click here for shop and listing.
I look forward to sharing my seals and stamps with you when they arrive, I am tempted to order a custom one for sure!

Fancy Friday Finds -Yellow

The night before Groundhog Day and all through the house, not a creature was stirring, not cat, kid or mouse. As I sat at my computer trying to find something to share a second piece of lemon pie beconded that I come there. So with tea and pie in hand, this Groundhog Day Fancy Friday Finds awaits and while I could not find anything fancy about Groundhog day to share I did find a few bright and sunny lemon pie themed items to share...
Perhaps you don't have access too or the means to make Lemon Pie whenever you fancy it, I recommend keeping a stash of Lemon Meringue Pie this one is by MsMuirsHouseOfTea Etsy Shop , now if I had that on hand I would not have had to run to the store last evening...
In my Karen's 2018 Teacup and Challenge we have recently been sharing our love of yellow teacups and this one caught my eye offered by Creating Cotters Bay click here for shop and listing.
Not an Etsy find but one you can get in store or online at places like amazon. My current favorite type of teapot is this one by London Pottery. I have a large grey one that I love as it has a wire basket that fits under the lid of the teapot and the lid stays in place. As a loose leaf tea drinker most of the time, this is my teapot of choice and it comes in many more colors but for today I chose to share the yellow one. Find it on amazon here.
Thank you for joining me here for a cup of tea, a slice of pie and some lovely lemon yellow items for Fancy Friday!

Fancy Friday Finds For The Love of the Cat

Welcome to this weeks Fancy Friday Finds. My week has pretty much been about Cats, Books & Tea and so that is the theme of this Friday's post. OUr Cat Mia, who is two had surgery to save her life and her leg. Truth be told we thought it would be more humane to save her life, though she has made it quite clear she disagrees. While she is healing, she is very unhappy with life and if you don't believe cats get depressed well, she most certainly is, when she is not trying to get revenge on me for doing everything I can to ensure her healing process.  I really love this T-shirt and if like me you do too you can find it at The Plaid Deer Etsy site by clicking here.
This is a photo of Mia, plotting her revenge just after I put this new cone on her, inflatable, supposed to stay on and not be easy to get off, she has had it off 6 times, this is cone number 3, she is not amused...
I shared that photo of Mia so you would understand why I am sharing this pin, it is actually from an Etsy shop with some truly unique items! Click here to see the Disabilies Etsy Shop...I may have to get this one!

Mia is mostly confined to a dog crate for her recovery but she is allowed out to use the litter box and do some walking around, she tries to escape by waiting by the door, just before I put her back in her confinement, we really hope her fur grows in soon! She will likely feel much happier...
I found this hand painted cat teacup and saucer which I love and wished I had found for the Release Party of Sarah Fox's new Pancake House Mystery, Of Spice and Men, it totally looks like the cat on the cover!
You can find this and other truly lovely sets  in the Dariacustomdesigns Etsy Shop by clicking here.

Thank you for joining me for this weeks Fancy Friday Finds and a check up on Mia! Hope she will be back to being my reading partner again soon!
I love having you join me for a cup of tea each day, and I would love to hear from you so please leave me a comment here or email me at karenmowen@gmail.com

Fancy Friday Friday Inspired by The Piano Guys

On Wednesday night I had the amazing opportunity to go to see The Piano Guys at the Queen Elizabeth Theater. If you are not familiar with this musical group, I can highly recommend them.  Made up of four dads from Utah this amazing group consists of 4 musicians, who all play the piano, but one of them Steven, plays the cello in what is to me a most magical way. There music is a seamless blend of classical and modern something you have to hear to believe. Their website can be viewed here and I highly recommend you check out these video's there are 60 of them and each worth watching over and over again. I was moved to tears 5 different times during their performance. It was incredible. Below is the video of my favorite of Steven's songs...

Today I am using the Piano Guys as my inspiration for Fancy Friday.

This Music Man Tea Cozy Knitting pattern would work as the main Piano player Jon from the piano guys, just simply change his hair color and it is spot on! This is offered by the Tea Cozy Folk Etsy Shop and you can find it by clicking here.

The Baltic Tea has a wonderful offering for a personalized tea spoon music lovers alike would appreciate! Click here for shop and listing.

Old Sussex Etsy shop has this very lovely teapot for sale and it is stunning! Check it out by clicking here.

Instant Graphics offers this Cello drawing that I really loved. Click here for the print in their Etsy shop.

The blend of these magnificent instruments made on Wednesday night will stay with me forever. I love listening to their music while I write , read and sip my tea, I hope you will too. Learn more about The Piano Guys by clicking here for their website.

Thank you for joining me here for a cup of tea and a Fancy Friday Finds review. I would love to hear from you so please leave me a comment here or email me at karenmowen@gmail.com

Fancy Friday Finds- Cozy Fall Themed Tea

It's September and if you did not noticed already someone waved the Pumpkin Spice Fairy Dust all over everything. I am not a huge fan of pumpkin anything but I do like the smell of the spices used this time of year, it is the warm scent of apples, cinnamon, nutmeg and touch of cardamon that I think makes the season, it's just a coincidence that those things are what make up Pumpkin spice (okay maybe not the apple but I digress...) Today I am sharing some wonderful what I consider to be cozy fall themed tea items, based on scent, color and that represent the beauty of this time of year.  The first is a Tea out of the USA called The London Fog Tea company and this blend shown above is called The Cozy Cup Tea Blend, you can find this blend in shop by clicking here.

For color I found and loved this wooden tea box! This is called The Apple Orchard Tea Box and it caught my eye for the burn orange, brown, green and red that I associate with fall. This Tea box decoupaged and made by iLoveCreations Etsy Shop and you can view it and some other lovely treasures by clicking here.

The teacup and saucer I picked to share is one I was not familiar with but I love the shape of! This is a Royal Albert "Devon" Country Fayre Series Tea Cup and Saucer, Mushrooms Pears and Fruit, Brown Teacup and Saucer, offered by a new to me Etsy shop called Cup and Owl, this one has again the most lovely of fall colors inside and out!
This is a lovely set and one I would gladly add to my collection! Find this set and some truly lovely other ones by clicking here for the Cup and Owl Etsy Shop.

Thank you for joining me for a cup of tea and a Fancy Friday Finds post, I hope you found today's selection cozy and inviting. I would love to hear from you so please leave me a comment here or email me at karenmowen@gmail.com

Fancy Friday Finds- Hats for Tea...

I love hats, I wish I had more occasions to wear hats, but honestly the only time I seem to feel comfortable in hats is the Summer or well Halloween. But there is something so wonderful in hats, especially if you are going to a wedding or tea, something so posh about them I just love. I read lots of British Newspapers online and anytime there is an event in the society pages the hats just are amazing. Today I have picked three of my Etsy favorites. Type Tea Hat into Etsy and you will find pages and pages of amazing hats like these ones!

I love the simplicity of the cloche hats! The 1920's hats are among my most favorite. This particular hat in light blue and this shop called House of Recollections has some stunning hats I would love to wear! Click here for this shop and listing.

As fascinators go I love something like this, though truth be told I can not imagine having such a posh party or wedding to attend here, but boy would I love the chance. I love the simple to the extreme in this one by Queen Sugar Bee

I love the color of this one and the size is out of this world! Offered by Ladies Hats Boutique, this purple stunner caught my eye!

Where I live the most frequent hats I see are base ball caps, not these amazing works of art, though I am a creature of habit and choose comfort above all else, I do think it would be fun to pull out the hats for a garden party one day...

The hat I am most comfortable in for tea is the one I wear to my witches tea party which is going to be a bit late this year as I am still recovering from my summer pneumonia and have had to put if off a few weeks. I hope to have some wonderful photos to share of the tea party by the end of September until then I shall dream of wearing other fancy hats and work up the courage and the occasion to wear them.

Fancy Friday Finds, Inspired by Vicki Delany & Sherlock Holmes

This week I have been so inspired by Vicky Delany's Sherlock Themed mystery series that I thought I would share some recent Etsy Favorites with you starting with this one from VictoriaMaeDesigns.

This is a fun set as you can pick an assortment with great sayings and a package of 8/ 16/ or 24! Click here for shop and listing.

I love candles and this was a fun inspired candle I found in the In The Wick of Time Etsy shop.  It was really the label that grabbed me and then the scent itself,  Black tea, fireplace smoke, mahogany, and pipe tobacco. Click here to learn more about this candle and very fun shop.

My most favorite however, Fancy Friday find is this Sherlock Inspired fairy door...
