Fancy Friday Finds, Princess Margaret Rose 1930

For this weeks Fancy Friday Finds, I am sharing another one of three sets I picked up that are called Princess Margaret Rose, these sets were made to honor the birth of Queen Elizabeth's sister, and they are quite unique and special. The saucers are oval shaped and Paragon did such a lovely job with this pattern and colors, I am still really thrilled with this find.
The Queen Mother shown here with Princess Margaret Rose, image from Google.
When I found these they too were separated from their saucers, so I hunted and found three perfect sets! I paid $8 each for the set and was pleased to learn that the average price was $54!

I washed the sets up and love to have my tea out of them, I toasted my very own Queen Elizabeth who lives in my tea shop, to this amazing find!

You never know what you will find when you go to the thrift store. This was a particularly bountiful day and an unusually great find, but you never know what you are going to find until you look!

Fabulous Fancy Friday Foley Find!

One of my favorite finds of 2019 was this set I found in November at my local Salvation Army. This trio is a Foley set and has lovely pastel flowers in blues, purples. These were priced individually and each piece was $3.99.

Sometimes it is worth going through each plate and cup as at times they get separated when you come up with a lovely find like this!
This set is called Cottage Garden and was made in the Early 1950's.
I found this set on line for $43.00 Canadian! I paid $12.00!
This is such a pretty set and I am thrilled I found it!  If you are lucky enough to find a matching cup and saucer you should see if you can find the tea plate or side plate to match it makes a lovely breakfast set or even lovely lunch sets when you are entertaining.

With the weekend upon you, maybe it is time to take down your find china and use it for yourself! If you don't have a set but are thinking of rescuing a set for yourself, check your local thrift stores, charity shops, yard sales, and antique fairs.
Let me know what you find!
Thank you for joining me for a cup of tea and a look at my Friday Find! I would love to hear from you so please leave me a comment here or email me at karenmowen@gmail.com

Fancy Friday Finds- Overslept Addtion

It is Friday morning and I am late with this post, I stayed up late reading past my bedtime and fell asleep on the couch, waking at half past one and not knowing how my book ended so today's Fancy Friday Finds are for those like me who read past bedtime...
I love the above listing, actually it is pretty much my style, I would wear this one proudly today and love how they paired it with Chucks and jeans, pretty much my staple when not at a tea party, this listing is can be found in the Tee Designs Shop by clicking here.

The Spirit Den has a great throw pillow, I may have to order! You can find this one by clicking here.

I am in need of large amounts of caffeine this morning and I love the size and font on this great mug by Linda Nee! Click here for this Etsy listing and favorite.

Thank you for joining me today for this weeks Fancy Friday Finds and I will be back to you once I finish the book I was reading and catch up on some sleep. I would love to hear from you so please leave me a comment here or email me at karenmowen@gmail.com

Fancy Friday Finds- Ties, Bow Ties and Gloves

If you read yesterday's post then you saw that I have a new bear whom I am looking for a few bow ties for, which lead me to Etsy and today's post. While I have not found the right patterned fabric yet for Earl's bow tie, I did find and fall in love with some on etsy. Only my 10 year old likes bow ties, but I could not resist sharing these for the tea tent season.
Love and Dapper has a fun shop and they offer a variety of sizes in bow ties, what caught my eye was the lovely check pattern in this shop, I also liked the different styles offered, if I had it all to do over again I think bow ties would have been in more photos on my boys for sure. Click here for shop and listing.

The Wedding Tie Shoppe has a tie I love, not that I could see any of my boys wearing it but I love the idea, I am a fan of the cabbage rose patterns and if you are going to a summer tea wedding or perhaps you know someone bold enough I loved this listing! Click here to see these in shop.
A friend of mine mentioned this week about having tea at one of the queen's garden parties and how to get invited, she mentioned that there is a dress code and that while gloves were optional they were suggested. I have not thought of gloves for tea time but love the idea! I am not one who likes to have paint on my nails so gloves is a pretty neat way to dress up my hands. I was looking on Etsy for some vintage ones and found this listing in the Once and Future Etsy shop. I loved the little bowtie on these. I am not really a fan of the lace ones nor the sheer ones but these caught my eye and made my favorite list. Who knows maybe if I buy them I might just get an invite to one of the Queen's garden parties. Dear universe I am just putting it out there. You can find these and other lovely treasures by clicking here.

Thank you so much for joining me here for a cup of tea and a look at this weeks Fancy Friday Finds. I would love to hear from you so please leave me a comment here or email me at karenmowen@gmail.com

Fancy Friday Finds- On The Compact Size and Inspired ideas for Tea lovers...

Today's finds are fancy and compact. I really am interested in the Tiny House Movement, small homes and campers. That being said I would find it very hard to part with my teacup collection and many of my other things so though I am fascinated by the idea of downsizing and smaller footprint living, I am not sure at this time I could make that change in my life, 5 of us in a tiny home may not work but 5 of them maybe! I was looking through the tea section of Etsy and this amazing tea station caught my eye. Compact and sleek I love the look.
Prodsdesigns Etsy shop carries this made to order and not inexpensive but very cool tea station and you can take a look at it in shop by clicking here.
The idea that I could have a tiny Victorian to live in or have tea in is quite a charming idea, while this looks like a childs play house it is actually plans for a two level house but not plumed. Still would be great as a guest cottage or a reading and tea escape. Find the listing for the plans at WilliamHaigDesign Etsy shop by clicking here.
I have added this vintage beauty to today's post because I would really like it. This is a Samovar, one cup, pewter tea or hot water dispenser and it is cute as can be! I found this in the Suite22 Etsy shop and you can view it by clicking here.

Fancy Friday Finds...Lovely ways to steep your tea

This past week I sent out my tea swap and was looking for some creative ideas for sending tea care packages and I found some great ideas on Etsy. I love this idea, A matchbook that contains tea bags for your loose leaf tea.
The Luna Tea company sells these adorable filters in their etsy shop which you can find by clicking here.

Next up are tea nests made with wood and really lovely, made in the USA by the Albion Tea Company These are truly unique and beautiful. Click here for Etsy listing and to view the website.

These tea buddy tea balls caught my eye and I love how the kitten hands on the side of the mug. Offered by the Other Lab's Etsy Shop this would make a charming tea gift for a tea and kitten lover. Click here for shop and listing.

Fancy Friday Birthday Finds...

Today's Fancy Friday Finds are in anticipation of my birthday in a couple of weeks. Actually in my family we have 5 April birthdays. My sister in law, sister on the 18th and 19th and my twin nieces and I on the 26th.  As birthday gifts to me from me this one is high on my list! I have been wanting this teacup and saucer for over a year but the shipping to Canada is twice the cost of the cup and saucer. I have looked for this for a while and found the Happy Anniversary but not this one. This setting is offered on the EtagereAntique Etsy Shop. Click here for shop and listing.

Next up is this pillow, I love the colors and the message! So many people I could get this one for! Click here to see it in the Brickhousependant Etsy shop.

When I see this I think I want to buy one of those machines so that I can print of the vinyl lettering and make my own signs! I love this one too! You can find this simple and totally awesome sign at Milkandhonelyluxuiries by clicking here...

Today is the day that we are on our way to the first hockey tournament of the year for my sons team. Our team is made up of kids with autism. My son is a goalie and the other a defenceman. I am excited to go to my 4 adapted hockey tournament today. That being said I am scrambling this morning with the last minute things I need to do before we leave for the bus to Kelowna.

One of those things on my mind is packing up the gear, not just hockey but my books, tea, teapot, tea kettle, cup and saucer and my travel mug...so here are three of my Etsy Favorite Travel Mugs to share. Fancy Friday Finds Inspired by Kathleen Bridge's Upcoming New Book Death By The Sea...

This week I am writing about a teacup I was very excited to find that reminded me of Kathleen Bridge's upcoming book Death by the Sea.
If only I had the unlimited funds at my disposal this beauty would be in my collection for sure! I found this stunner in the Goodbuyantique's Etsy shop for just under $200 CND. I think it would look great on my table and I would love using it!
Even the colors would go beautifully with this cover don't you think?
The vivid colors of this set also caught my eye this teacup priced just under $100 is also a stunner! This one is offered by the VintageTeacup Etsy story you can find it by clicking here.

Last but not least today in my Fancy Friday finds is this set of beautiful bookends. I would buy these in a heartbeat! Fancy Friday Finds- Tea Carts...

This weeks fancy friday finds has me thinking back to the good old days when I had my own tea trolley. I was two and I have a few memories about this little tea trolley and my tea set and little cake. 41 years later I still wish I had this, or at least space for a wonderful tea cart. So I am looking back at some Etsy fun finds I have on my wish list.
While my tea cart was very mid century modern and plastic, my taste has refined slightly with age and this wicker cart from  caught my eye. First for its unique shape, age and for the color! You can see this beautiful cart by clicking here.

This lovely teak tea trolley is actually modern and a danish design you can order from Heath Side Home Etsy shop by clicking here this one looks much more like my original!
While I would love any of these, this one is by far my favorite, and more my style.
This cart would be treasured and it looks as though it might hold upto 6 cups and saucers. I love the drop leaf side, the drawer and well almost everything about this one listed in the Old Mill Vintage Etsy shop, (if I win the lotto this one is coming home with me!) In my head I am already wheeling this out and setting it up for tea!

Enough daydreaming for me off to read and watch the snow fall now. Thank you for joining me for a cup of tea and this weeks Fancy Friday Finds. I would love to hear from you, see your tea carts and chat with you soon so please leave me a comment here or email me at karenmowen@gmail.com

Fancy Friday Finds- Perfect For Book Hangovers...

True story, as I write this it is 15 minutes before midnight and I just finished reading The Tuscan Child by Rhys Bowen...just sat down to write this post and thought of how I am looking forward to going to sleep now. This made me laugh, a perfect pillow to start the post with! You can find it from the Cutting Edge Design Etsy shop by clicking here.

I loved this shirt, as well it is truly how I would love to spend my already declared Friday at home, it is actually READING Break for my boys school tomorrow and we are all home for the day.

I may have to forgo the cup and saucer in favor of a large caffeinated beverage as I already have book hangover from finishing in one sitting Rhys Bowen's The Tuscan Child. You can find this fun mug that I am putting on my wish list from the Stag and Peach Co by clicking here.

Forgive me if I am not up as early as I usually am. I am so happy to have you join me for a cup of tea and this weeks Fancy Friday Finds. I would love to hear from you so please leave me a comment here or email me at karenmowen@gmail.com
