Maggie Sefton's Dyeing Up Loose Ends

I finished Dyeing Up Loose Ends by Maggie Sefton , this is the 16th book in the series and it is a great read. Out July 3rd this book walks you through all the past murder mysteries and it also goes through main Character Kelly's current life, her relationship with her friends and her growing little boy. The murder mystery tied in nicely with what felt like a visit with old friends. As usual a great read and a wonderful series.

Kelly Flynn has been enjoying motherhood and avoiding murder, but when a friend's life is cut short, she enlists the Lambspun knitters to catch a heartless killer in the last Knitting Mystery novel from the New York Times bestselling author of Only Skein Deep. Kelly is happily busy with her son, Jack, now a rambunctious four-year-old preschooler. Jack keeps his mom on her toes and drinking all the coffee she can handle at Pete's Porch Café. Kelly's friendly waitress Julie is hoping to become an accountant. She makes sure she keeps Kelly caffeinated and up-to-date on her career progress.Kelly splits her free time between Pete's and Lambspun, where her fellow knitters love hearing all about Jack's latest exploits. They've also been taking a trip down memory lane, reminiscing about crimes that Kelly had a hand in solving over the years. But the Lambspun crew is horrified when a very present-day murder occurs in their midst--and Julie is the victim. With her sleuthing instincts on full alert, Kelly starts asking questions. The well-liked waitress may have had enemies no one knew about, or she could have just been in the wrong place at the wrong time. On My Table and In My Cup May 27th - June 2nd

Greetings this morning from my table to yours. I am so thrilled to have Lorna Barrett's book on my table this week, ahead of its June 13th release. I have read every book in this series and it is my favorite long running series. I can not wait to share this one with you all soon but for now I am savoring it!

With the arrival of June's Berkley reads I find that I am ahead of the game with only two left to read from this lovely selection.

Kate Carlisle's Once Upon A Spine was a lifesaver this week as I read it while at the doctor and X-Ray for what I now now is a sprained ankle. I am recovering very well.

Maggie Sefton's Only Skein Deep was such a comfortable read. I loved reading this one, made it feel like a nice visit with friends. This one is a must read for sure.

CeeCee James has a great book number 2 with Deadly Reservations. Great Mother/Daughter relationship story, as well as a great mystery.

A very sophisticated and proper mystery in The Curious Affair of The Somnambulist and The Psychic Thief by Lisa Tuttle, I very much enjoyed this period mystery.

This week I enjoyed David's Tea's Long Life Oolong,  as well as my blissful Murchies Vanilla Black and Tazo's Calm Tea. Even as the weather turns warmer I still enjoy all my hot favorite teas!

Only Skein Deep by Maggie Sefton

I read Only Skein Deep by Maggie Sefton last night. I love Maggie Sefton's Knitting mystery series and the newest one comes out June 6th. This is book number 15 and it reads like you are catching up at a visit with old friends. This one is very exciting in that the main focus is really on main character Kelly and her rapidly expanding belly! Her son Jack is about to make his debut and even though Kelly is tying up loose ends with her accounting work and her knitting project she can not help but be interested in the latest unsolved murder mystery just behind her house. It was so enjoyable to read this story and feel like I was "home" visiting friends. This is a comfortable read and I love how Maggie Sefton wove the murder mystery as well as some lovely surprises and twists into Only Skein Deep.

Kelly Flynn and her boyfriend, Steve, couldn’t be happier as they await the birth of their bouncing baby boy. Kelly’s got a built-in group of fiber arts specialists, the Lambspun Knitters, who are working away on blankets and booties. On My Table And In My Cup June 25th- July 2nd

Thank you for joining me for a cup of tea and a week in review. On my table this week I have had some amazing cozy mysteries and some fantastic cups of tea.

 Yesterday was Canada Day and I started my day with Heavenly Creme Tea (My favorite from Neverland Tea Salon) in A Royal Adderley Cup and Saucer with the pattern Maple Leaf Tartan. This is one of my most favorite little sets as it is a demi tasse. Maple Leaf Tartan was created in 1964.  I just started Dressed To Kill By Hannah Reed. I put it on my table last week but I wanted to save it having this cup and saucer in mind for Canada Day and as I so enjoy this series I thought it would be a great way to spend my holiday weekend!

If you missed it yesterday I was so excited to share the first Chapter of A Toxic Trousseau, Juliet Blackwell's 13th book in this series which comes out July 5th. This was my favorite so far in the series and I can not wait for you all to read it!

It was a paranormal themed week for cozy mysteries this week on my table and the June release of Victoria Laurie's Psychic Eye Mysteries, Sense of Deception had so much to offer, suspense, fear, a couple of great mysteries and a really wonderful cast of characters.

Canadian Author Linda Wiken's new series Toasting Up Trouble spent a brief time on my table this week, the review will follow Monday!

Maggie Sefton's Purl Up and Die was also a June release that I enjoyed, even brought out my Celestial Seasoning's tea pot for my evening read!

So many great things to talk about with A Dark and Stormy Murder, if you have yet to order this one I say run to your store, or order on line you will not want to miss this first in series!

I also am so excited and thrilled to share that Read To Death comes out July 5th! I am so thrilled with this series and delighted to have lent my recipe to Terrie for the back of the book. I do hope you will give the series and my recipes a try! I can not wait to hear what you think about both!

Purl Up and Die by Maggie Sefton

I read Purl Up and Die by Maggie Sefton on Sunday. This was a very interesting read that had me thinking. The subject matter was more serious in this usually more light cozy series. I very much enjoyed this very relevant mystery and found I could not put it down. It had me struggling to find the killer and my own emotions regarding what I could have done or would have chosen to do if placed in this mystery situation. On the lighter note I love and appreciate the amount of time spent at the baseball field in this baseball season based story. Maggie did a great job of balancing a mystery that could have been ripped from the headlines and the essence of what makes a long running cozy series cozy!

Kelly’s summer in Fort Connor, Colorado, is off to a great start with knitting classes taught by her friend Barb. But while the advanced stitches are giving Kelly the slip, a more deadly problem soon has her friend coming apart at the seams. A young woman has accused Barb’s son, Tommy—a young doctor doing his residency—of assaulting her. The yarns spun by the local rumor mill are bad enough, but when the woman is found dead in her ransacked apartment, Tommy becomes the number one suspect.  With the police ready to close the case, it’s up to Kelly to knit together the clues to uncover a killer who doesn’t seem to drop a stitch...

Knit To Be Tied by Maggie Sefton

 Knit To Be Tied by Maggie Sefton  came out June 7th and it was a great summer read. With perfect timing and having in the end of summer this is a great story with a lot of heart. This series has a great group of characters readers like I have gotten to know and love over the years, this was a read that felt more like a visit with friends then a mystery book. I enjoyed the story, the community feeling and the family themes in this story. I know that others who enjoy this series are going to find this one one of their favorites. Maggie's book had me itching to get back to knitting too, I would love a knitting circle like the Lambspun Knitting shop!

In Fort Connor, Colorado, the friends at the House of Lambspun knitting shop are welcoming a new face into the fold. Shy, sweet, and pregnant Nancy Marsted would like to knit a baby hat, and the Lambspun ladies are more than happy to show her the ropes. They share their own pregnancy yarns and soon learn the father of Nancy’s baby isn’t quite the man she dreamed he was. He’s a cad. Then one dark night a speeding car fatally mows down the dad-to-be and strikes a cyclist, spinning the town into a frenzy. Everyone worries that a crazed killer is on the loose. Now it’s up to Kelly and the gang to put down their needles and cut to the chase before the culprit is driven to kill again

On My Table And In My Cup June 18-25th

Thanks to the UPS man I have been delivered safely 12 of the summers most anticipated reads and I am so thrilled! I have started on Terrie Farley Moran's Read To Death the third book in the Read 'Em and Eat Series. 

I am so thrilled and excited to have so many wonderful books to read! It is hard to choose which to read first through 12th! I can not wait to read them all.

This week I read Laurie Cass' Cat With A Clue, such a great series! Book five is sure to delight!

Book two of Kathi' Daley's A Sand and Sea Hawaiian Mystery was a great escape. I really enjoy this Island based cozy series and can not wait for the next one.

Judy Volhart's first and fabulous Whine & Cheese Cozy Mystery  Asiago and the Accomplice was really well written a great and inspiring read, I challenge you all to order and read this one this summer! Click here to find it on Amazon

In my cup all week this week I have been enjoying the new Twinings 90th Celebration tea. This afternoon tea is a blend of three commonwealth black teas and reminds me of a very high quality Darjeeling tea.  My sister in law purchased this for me and I am so grateful!

On My Table and In My Cup May 28th-June 4th

Thank you for joining me this week for a look back at the books and tea I have been enjoying on my table this week.  I have been stalking the mail man who seems to be on vacation again, nothing but flyers this week and the person delivering is not him, I hope he is back Monday so I have some book orders arrive!  Murder Most Witchy, was a free paranormal cozy I downloaded for my kindle app.  It paired well with (thanks to my wonderful friend Daniela who found herself at Neverland Tea Salon and picked it up) my favorite Heavenly Black Tea.

This week I have been so blessed with kindness, my mother in law braved the long weekend traffic to pick me up Earl Grey tea from Trader Joe's! That requires a passport, three hour car ride and money worth more then the currency we have here!

 If you have never had Trader Joe's Earl Grey Tea, I strongly suggest picking this tea up!
Truly I have the best mother in law on the planet, I am so lucky  to have her this lady who would drop everything if I needed her or tea!

Monday my friend Laine found and sent me this Royal Albert Old Country Roses tin! She filled it in with Timey Whimey Tea so good! Love this friend!

Thursday I was surprised when one of the mothers in my son's class gave me this cup and saucer at pick up, she said she thought I would like it and she is right!

Tuesday I read Knit To Be Tied by Maggie Sefton, 

Books of a Feather was also a delightful read!

On My Table And In My Cup May 21st-28th

It has been a really busy week and I have had only a few books on my table this week I read Kathi Daley's Kitten Kaboodle this week always a treat to have her books on my table, 

I was extremely delighted to find Alice Loweencey's Changing Habits, short story for my kindle app after no mail from the mail man (no books or packages for me in more then a week!) on Tuesday and my review will be posted here tomorrow.

I was thrilled to have Lorna Barrett stop by for a visit, her work is truly amazing and having her books in hardback is a real thrill for me, I splurge on them not wanting to wait for the paperback versions to come out. 

Also arrived this Wednesday, books to keep me busy through the weekend and into the next week or two. I finished Nikki Leclair's Haunting Me and will share my review in the next week as well. Some fabulous reads on this table!

Thursday my pre ordered paper back book called Witchy Mama by Melanie Marquis and Emily A. Francis arrived, this one I have so been looking forward to having in my hands! Great reference book, parenting guide and overall cool book!

This week I read 5 books which is a very good week of reading for me, having some June titles on my table early and now in my heart!

This morning I have woken up to the rain Vancouver is famous for, damp cold, grey, pounding huge drops of liquid sunshine. All of that can not dampen my enthusiasm for the book on my table this morning. I sat down to read Title Wave by Lorna Barrett last night and read a tad past my bed time until it was done. So many reasons this series is my most favorite. I can not wait to share some of them with you in my up coming review. Title Wave is out June 14th, I have it on order from The Book Depository as well, so to find it in a shipment this week for review was completely a surprise and delight! Looks like no baseball this morning but a long list of yard sales! Good thing I am not made of sugar, it is a batten down the hatches kind of morning. Enjoy your day!
