A Recipe And Tea Time With The Doctor The New Season Is A Cozy Mystery In It's Self...

Indulge me here please as I share another passion of mine. I do love Doctor Who. Ten will always be my doctor but hey they all are. Last year for Christmas my boys gave me all Doctor Who Themed gifts, cookie cutters, tea towels, and plates. The previous year my Husband gave me my Tardis Tea Pot, I have put request in for a Tardis Mug for this year and a Tenth Doctor Pop Figure. My boys love these crazy Pop Figures and I am pretty sure I will be on the good list and find these under the tree in 97 more days....oh Christmas is a hobby of mine too. My wonderful sister Bre and her family bought me the Tardis Cookie Jar for Christmas last year and I got the Doctor Who book for Mothers day from my boys.  The Doctor Who series begins again this weekend and I am very excited.

I baked these cookies to celebrate and share while my husband and I watch the Magician's Apprentice!
If you are not a Doctor Who fan and you have patiently awaited for the recipe portion of today's post here is my recipe for the perfect sugar cookies for cut outs!

Karen's Perfect Sugar Cookies For Cut Outs Recipe

  • 1 cup of margarine
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 tsp vanilla
  • 3 cups of flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
Beat the margarine and sugar add the eggs, vanilla and milk. Beat in the baking powder and flour. Place your dough on to some wax paper or parchment paper, cover with plastic wrap and chill at least two hours (I chill mine overnight).

Roll out the dough to your desired thickness (you will need to flour your work space and your rolling pin. Cut out your shapes and bake 10-12 minutes at 350 until the edges of the cookies are slightly golden brown.
*You could make these sandwich type cookies and push two cookies together with icing or Nutella but I find them sweet enough on their own.

I hope you have a wonderful time watching The Doctor this weekend or baking cookies! Thank you for joining me for a Cup of Tea and Some Yummy Cookies!
I would love to hear from you so please leave me a comment here or email me at karenmowen@gmail.com

  1. I didn't realize the series was still going. I remember at school in England when we all dressed up as Daleks. We put suspenders/braces on boxes with the top and bottom cut out and stuck silver foil circles over them. I was surprised no one fell off the stage because walking was extremely difficult.
